Oop Orc Wyvern assembly

While playing in the last 40k league I wanted to field two of the Chaos Heldrake Daemonic flyers. I used a oop metal fantasy battle High Elf dragon for the first one and a loaner Reaper clockwork dragon for the second one. So I wouldn't have to rely on the loaner dragon I decided to build another large fantasy flyer to be the second proxy Heldrake.

After a search through the Closet of Doom I found a classic Azhag the Slaughterer model. He has been in the closet of Doom for many years. I acquired him probably back in 4th or 5th edition when I was actively adding to my Orc fantasy army.

The base on the foot reads 1993 Marauder. A little late to be a 80's classic but still a classic model.

The model originally  came with a 40mm base but I used a 50mm to bring it more in line with the current rules. A couple people have pointed out that the other dragons have a 100x50mm chariot base but I can live with it. Above is the torso and tail added. The box art has the tip of the tail pointed toward the front but I couldn't seem to get it to work without it touching the wings. I ended up straightening out the tail so it will be between the wings.

The neck added without the head and wings.

The head added and the wings dry fitted.

It funny building another model I have had for almost 20 years. If I keep it up I might clear the back log in another 20 years.
