By the way, that red explosion in the Congo game is the fuel drums going up. There was only one enemy guy hiding there, but it just seemed too Hollywood an opportunity to pass up. The AK's didn't get him, but the RPG did.
A chronicle of my gaming adventures and misadventures with a little bit of everything occasionally tossed in. It covers Flames of War, Warhammer 40k and Fantasy battle, Disposable Heroes, Sky galleons of Mars, Chasepot and Needle Gun, The Sword and the Flame, Warhammer Ancients and many others.

There's certainly a lot of possibilities for modern stuff. Like pulp, but with a higher ROF.
I think Angola would be a good setting for confusing skirmish stuff. Different local factions plus Cubans and South Africans. A bit in a book about the KGB I just read demonstrates how messed up it was, "Ironically, the MPLA" (the communists) "was forced to use Cuban troops to defend American oil installations from UNITA attack" (UNITA being the US-backed rebels).
The better one is when Executive Outcomes hired by MPLA had ex south african army mercs defending the oil wells against their former compatriots UNITA.
That is Africa, in my book.
I'm going to have to buy more African fighters! And paint my Russians! And buy some Brits! And paint my French Foreign Legion! And paint my T-72's! And finish my Cape Buffalo herd!
I'm sure you get the idea.
Yeah Chuck! More African's.
